 Back to programme

Sunday 12 May | Slotconcert: Rembrandt Frerichs Trio – Music Never Dies!

Time: 15:30 – 16:30 hrs
Venue: COMM, Den Haag
(Museum van Communicatie)

Rembrandt Frerichs Trio:

Rembrandt Frerichs – fortepiano (anno 1790), harmonium (anno 1860) / Benjamin Glorieux – cello / Vinsent Planjer – percussion

With the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio we conclude the festival; a positive look into the future with music by composers who may no longer be with us, but whose music lives on and continues to appeal to the imagination of all generations: Music Never Dies!

Old, almost forgotten instruments are being revived. How about a harmonium from 1860 that appeared out of the cycle and was waiting for a new owner? It turned out to be a beautiful South German sucking harmonium with which composer and pianist Rembrandt knows how to cope. The fortepiano – an instrument that is normally used for classical historical performance practice – is also revived, but outside the music of Haydn and Mozart.

Speed-dating with the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio 14:30-15:30 hrs:
Always wanted to know how they do that, improvise on stage? Or how long you have to study to play on the world stages? During Classical Encounters it’s possible: experience a close encounter with the makers of the Rembrandt Frerichs trio, in an intimate one-on-one setting of 2 minutes, ask what you want, and who knows, philosophical conversations, or an everyday exchange will take place.

For this Sunday you can buy a day ticket, in addition to separate tickets.

By presenting this ticket you will receive a 50% discount on your visit to the Museum for Communication on 12 May 2019. You can buy your ticket at the museum’s ticket office on 12 May.
